APPLE Executive Eddy Cue to be honored with Spirit of Life® Award by City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry Group
LOS ANGELES, June 4, 2014 — City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry group will honor Eddy Cue, senior vice president of Apple’s Internet Software and Services, with its 2014 Spirit of Life® Award. The award is City of Hope’s highest honor, and each year recognizes an individual whose work has fundamentally impacted the music, film and entertainment industries. Cue will be the first honoree from the technology sector, an acknowledgment of the exciting ways technology and entertainment now intersect to enhance the consumer experience.
The award will be presented at a gala dinner in Los Angeles on Oct. 23.

Cue is a 25-year Apple veteran who began his career with the company as a manager of software engineering and customer support teams. He played a key role in the creation of the Apple online store in 1998, the iTunes Store in 2003 and the App Store in 2008. In 2010, Fast Company ranked Cue No. 2 on its annual list of “Most Creative People.”
