Restorative gentle yoga classes are now available every Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. and every Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the center’s activity room.

Patients and caregivers also are encouraged to discover their inner artist by attending a new art therapy class. The class is offered every Tuesday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. No previous art experience is required for the class, and supplies are included.

The center’s music therapy class continues to be offered on the first and third Thursday of each month from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

These classes can play a part in healing and wellness, according to supportive care specialists. Yoga, music and art therapy have been found to relieve stress and anxiety, enhance relaxation, improve physical and emotional well-being and increase positive feelings.

All classes are free and take place in the center’s activity room. Classes are open to patients and family members only. Yoga participants must bring their own mats (mats also are available for purchase in the Positive Image CenterSM). Due to limited space, registration is required by calling the Biller Patient and Family Resource Center at 626-256-4673, ext. 32273 (3CARE).
