Say, do you know the way to Unit A?

By Vicky Hoffman

City of Hope recently printed a patient and family guide that provides important, useful information for patients and their visiting caregivers and friends.

The new guide directs patients and loved ones to clinics, gardens, dining options and more. The Ambulatory Care, New Patient Services, Campus Planning and Communications departments and Sheri & Les Biller Patient and Family Resource Center collaborated on the guide, which includes an updated map. The map draws on best practices from around the nation: It uses color coding, for example, and shows images of key buildings rather than simply providing their names.

Patients — including members of the Patient Advisory Council — provided feedback during creation of the guide. The guide can be found at the Biller Patient and Family Resource Center in the Main Medical Building and is distributed at the center’s daily patient and family orientation classes.

A PDF version of the guide also can be found online by going to www.cityofhope.org and clicking the “Patients & Families” link on the left side of the screen.
