Hungry for a mushroom burger or a stroganoff? Head to the nearest grocer for a pack of mushrooms to help back City of Hope’s efforts against breast cancer.

For the second year, select mushroom growers have created special pink mushroom packages that are available at participating retailers nationwide through mid-November. The packages feature the City of Hope logo and a pink ribbon on their labels.

As part of the initiative, the Mushroom Council is donating an additional $50,000 to research by Shiuan Chen, Ph.D., director of the Division of Tumor Cell Biology. The research focuses on the cancer-fighting potential of mushrooms.
