Baseball, gourmet food, and live music all had one thing in common on a recent October weekend: They came together to boost programs at City of Hope.
Multiplatinum recording artist John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting took the stage — on the pitcher’s mound — at The Dell Diamond minor league stadium outside Austin, Texas, on Oct. 22 for an acoustic performance at an intimate fundraising dinner benefiting City of Hope. The event featured wine tastings from several premium Napa Valley wineries as well as food by three celebrity chefs.
A family friendly event on Oct. 23 included a burger cook-off, a pie-eating contest and music by major bands Green River Ordinance, the Gin Blossoms, Five For Fighting, Collective Soul and Tonic.
