Actor lends voice to new video that inspires viewers to support Power of Hope campaign

Actor Kiefer Sutherland, known for action movies and most recently his starring role in television’s “24,” has long been a City of Hope supporter. First introduced to City of Hope through his friends Christina and Chip Russo during their personal cancer journey, Sutherland not only lent his voice to publicly share their story — but also is now the celebrity face of the Power of Hope fundraising campaign.

Kiefer Sutherland narrates a new Power of Hope campaign video.

As City of Hope’s comprehensive campaign enters its second public year, Sutherland serves as narrator for a recently released video that features key campaign supporters sharing their thoughts on why they support City of Hope’s mission. Sutherland first provided his voice to the campaign in 2010 when he narrated a video that helped launch the effort.

The new video, which can be viewed at YouTube.com/cityofhopeonline, showcases some of the institution’s most noteworthy supporters.

Among those featured: Kommah McDowell, cancer survivor and a member of City of Hope’s speaker’s bureau and Patient and Family Advisory Council; Timothy J. Leiweke, president and chief executive officer of AEG; Steven M. Hilton, president and chief executive officer of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation; Louise Horvitz, member of the Power of Hope campaign cabinet; Morgan Chu, J.D., Ph.D., partner at Irell & Manella LLP, and his wife, Helen Chu, both City of Hope benefactors; and Tony Markel, vice chair of the Markel Corp. and national chair of the Power of Hope campaign.
