Little lambs bring lots of support for City of Hope

By Cheryl Regan

“Ewe” can help fight cancer by taking home a collectible, limited-edition sheep plush toy from Serta International.

The national bedding manufacturer has partnered with City of Hope through a unique promotion. Serta customers can support City of Hope by joining the Serta Adopt-a-Sheep to Fight Cancer effort.

Customers at participating local retail stores will receive a complimentary sheep plush toy for every Serta iComfort Sleep System they “test rest” or purchase. Serta also has made the toy available for purchase ($16.99) on its website, serta.com.

Sheep “parents” can register their adopted sheep’s name on the Serta website and place their sheep in the virtual Herd for Hope Honor Wall.

For each Adopt-a-Sheep plushie adopted, Serta will provide a minimum donation of $1.50, up to $9. This program will run through March 31, 2012.

The Serta Counting Sheep have become a large part of Serta’s identity since they were introduced in 2000.
