Diabetes Education Program Offered at City of Hope 

 



City of Hope will offer a comprehensive 10-hour Diabetes Education Program (DEP) taught by a psychologist, nurse and dietitian, all Certified Diabetes Educators.

City of Hope’s DEP is designed to increase patient’s knowledge of diabetes and to teach skills necessary for improving day-to-day disease control by covering topics on:

• Medications: Oral and Insulin
• ADA Diet Principles, Carbohydrate Counting and Food Exchanges
• Prevention of Long Term Complications
• Exercise and Activity
• Stress Management, Behavior Change, Community Resources and Goal Setting
