Tips for Healthy Living
Do you know that you don't need to belong to a gym to exercise? You can get lots of great exercise with common, everyday activities. For example, if a 150-pound person takes an elevator up four floors, that will burn about 12 calories - but if that person walked up the stairs to the 4th floor, that would burn about 50 calories!Couple walking their dogs

Incorporating small activities into your daily routine can help to provide some valuable exercise and doesn't have to take large chunks of time. Examples include parking at the back of the lot instead of by the door when you go shopping, taking your dog for a daily walk (good for the dog, too), walking to destinations that are within a mile and riding your bike when possible. You'll not only improve your health but you'll cut down on gasoline use, too. Remember, all of us should be getting at least 60 minutes of exercise each day on most days of the week. The chart on the next page gives some common activities that are easy to do, don't require going to the gym and can help improve your health.
