Overview/Need
Breast, cervical and ovarian cancers are three of the most common cancers among American women, with over 212,060 newly diagnosed cases and 45,658 deaths projected for 2007 by the Cancer Institute. Colorectal cancer will be diagnosed in another 74,630 American women and an estimated 26,180 will die of the disease by the end of 2007, making colorectal cancer the third leading cause of cancer death among American women. Recognizing that patient quality of life and survival rates for these cancers are significantly improved when they are detected early and treated appropriately. There is a need for physicians to remain current on the rapidly evolving approaches to their diagnosis and treatment.
This year City of Hope, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center has partnered with the Nevada Cancer Institute, the official cancer institute for the State of Nevade; to bring to our learners the expertise of faculty from these two noted cancer research and treatment center. Designed by these experts in the fields of gynecologic, breast and gastrointestinal oncology. The Seventh Annual City of Hope Women's Cancer Conference will address the educational needs of physicians who diagnose and treat women with these cancers. Advances in key screening and diagnostic areas will be examined and changes in treatment recommendations paradigms will be profiled and discussed. We welcome and invite your participation and valuable contribution to our conference.
