City of Hope’s Clinical Research Training Office actively assists physicians and scientists in fulfilling their career aspirations. These programs, housed on the City of Hope campus, provide excellent opportunities for those seeking to further their career in cancer research and treatment.

Clinical Oncology Career Development Program (K-12)
City of Hope is proud to be one of only two National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Cancer Centers that have offered this National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored program. The intensive curriculum, aimed at physicians interested in a research-focused career, includes didactic and laboratory experiences relevant to the candidates’ academic background while developing new skills necessary for the demanding role of the physician investigator.

Cancer Genetics Career Development Program
Growing awareness of the genetic etiology of many types of cancer has driven City of Hope’s NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center to offer the innovative Cancer Genetics Career Development Program. The program provides rigorous interdisciplinary training focused on cancer genetics as well as cancer prevention research.  This prestigious traineeship is limited to only three participants per year.
