NEW YORK, April 29, 2008 – Capitol Music Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jason Flom will be the guest of honor at City of Hope’s third annual Music and Entertainment Industry Roast at Tavern on the Green in New York, May 21. Stand-up comic and Friar’s Club celebrity roaster Jeffrey Ross – who has performed at roasts for Hugh Heffner, Donald Trump and Pamela Anderson, among others – will serve as the event’s emcee. Joining Ross at the podium will be Dee Snider, frontman to the legendary multiplatnum heavy metal band Twisted Sister, platinum hip-hop artist Fat Joe, Hits magazine editor Lenny Beer and Epic Records president Charlie Walk. The evening will also feature a special performance by singer/songwriter Jill Sobule

“The music industry has a long history of support for City of Hope,” said Flom. “The work of the physicians and scientists there is truly incredible, they’re moving their research quickly into new treatments, and contributing to the development of some of the most effective anticancer drugs on the market. I’m glad to be a part of any effort to make their discoveries possible, even if it means being roasted by my peers.”

Flom's 30 years in the music business has been marked by his passion for discovering, signing and breaking new artists.  His signings have included artists as artistically diverse as Matchbox 20, Tori Amos and Kid Rock. In 1995, Flom established Lava Records, a new Atlantic Records label and joint venture/partnership, and turned it into one of the most successful start-ups in music business history.  He became chairman of Atlantic Records in 2004, was named president and CEO of Virgin Records in 2005, and in January of 2007 was named chairman/CEO of Capitol Music Group.  During his career in the music industry, Flom has worked with some of the world’s biggest artists, who collectively have sold over 150 million albums worldwide.
