Guest Services Desks
Whatever you need – directions, campus phone numbers, lodging suggestions and more – information and support can be found at one of our two Guest Services Desks:
- Helford Hospital: ext. 61143
(located in the lobby, it is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays)
- Main Medical: ext. 62234
(located in the lobby, it is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday)
For Your Privacy
On your first visit to City of Hope, you will receive a Notice of Privacy Practices, which outlines all of the ways we maintain and respect your privacy. If you feel you need an extra measure of protection, please let us know and we’ll do everything possible to help.
Business and Personal Services
From faxing and photocopying, to purchasing stamps, we are always happy to help. Please contact the Guest Services Desk in Helford Hospital at ext. 61143 for more information.
In-Room Television Services and DVD Players
Television sets and DVD players are provided in every patient room, except those in ICU. Programming includes entertainment channels and interactive educational presentations that provide a wealth of health information.
Internet Access
Access the Internet from the privacy of your room through your television or your laptop computer via one of our available hook-ups. If you have difficulty connecting, ask your nurse to contact the City of Hope Help Desk for a technician. Should you need service for your laptop, a local company, Foothill Computer, can assist you at a reasonable charge. You can call them at 626-305-1577, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Newspapers
We carry most major English and Spanish-language publications, such as the Los Angeles Times, Pasadena Star-News and La Opinión, at locations across campus, including the Cafeteria and Hope & Parsons Village. Ask the Guest Services Desk representative for the location nearest you.
Room Temperature
If your room feels uncomfortably hot or cold, please ask one of our staff caregivers to contact the Engineering Department for a technician to adjust the temperature.
Valet Parking
Valet parking is available for a nominal charge at two locations:
- Medical Center (by the fountain entrance): Parking hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. keys are kept at the Guest Services Desk in Main Medical.
- Helford Hospital (in the circular driveway): Parking hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., keys are kept at the Helford Hospital Guest Services Desk.
Upon request, Guest Services will call a Security Officer to escort you to your vehicle.
Tram Escort Services
We provide a tram escort service to assist patients, visitors and employees to and from their cars and around campus. Available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., trams are often located in the circular driveway in front of the Medical Center (by the fountain entrance), or you may call ext. 62006 for assistance. If you require an escort after hours or on weekends, please call the City of Hope operator by pressing “0” and request that a Security Officer escort you to your destination.
