Program Goals

To uphold the mission of the program:  
  • Students will develop a level of didactic and clinical competence in the art and science of radiation therapy that will provide successful entry into the profession.
  • Students and graduates will communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing care for their physical, emotional and educational needs while being sensitive to appropriate cultural and age specific concerns.
  • Students will learn to function and communicate as essential members of the radiation therapy treatment team and will perform this function effectively as graduates.

  • Students and graduates will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and will apply them effectively in the classroom and clinical situations

  • Students will successfully complete all graduation requirements, pass the national certification exam and secure employment in the field recognizing the need for lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Graduates will report a high degree of satisfaction with the educational experience in regard to quality of instruction and the fulfillment of their education, safety and personal needs.
  • Employers of graduates will report a high degree of satisfaction with graduates performance.
