Lifting Spirits Higher
Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Volunteers make a crucial contribution to City of Hope's mission to treat and cure cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Around the Country
City of Hope has a vast network of volunteers around the country, whose time and effort support this remarkable institution through special events, walks, runs and a myriad of other opportunities.
At the Medical Center
Each year, more than 500 volunteers work alongside our physicians, nurses and researchers at the Duarte medical center, assisting City of Hope's compassionate patient care and crucial support services.
Students looking for a great way to make a contribution to their community, retired individuals looking for a challenge, or anyone with an interest in giving energy to give to others can volunteer at City of Hope. The Volunteer Services Department works with each individual to find an area of the organization that best fits with their talents, interests and schedules.
A Variety of Volunteer Activities
Volunteers can be found all over our Duarte campus. Many work with patients or assist on nursing wings. Others utilize their skills in clerical and receptionist positions, or in the library performing research or delivering books. Tram drivers play an integral role by transporting people across on our 113-acre campus. Some ring up sales in the Gift Shop or Positive Image Center.
"Workplace Giving" Volunteers
Do you enjoy speaking in front of groups of people? Then being a volunteer speaker for the Workplace Giving program might be the spot for you! Ongoing training is available for volunteers interested in speaking about City of Hope to local area organizations.

These are just a sampling of the volunteer of opportunities at City of Hope. For the four hours a week you give, you will get the experience of a lifetime in return.
