Medical Center Application Process
After your application is received, you will receive more information explaining the opportunities that exist and be invited you to attend an orientation. Orientations are usually held 3 times a year from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For interested students, a parents meeting is also required. Continental breakfast is provided. Attendance at an orientation and training session is mandatory for new volunteers. After orientation, Volunteer Services will discuss next steps.
A few safety and security procedures will follow. As for any hospital employee, new volunteers must undergo a background check; submit medical records confirming that they have a current measles, mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunization; and take a tuberculosis (TB) test. A 2-step skin test is required by regulatory agencies and is given free of charge to volunteer applicants.
Once this process is complete, our Security department will take your photo, issue an identification badge, provide a parking permit… and you're all set!
