Pharmacy Careers at City of HopePharmacy Services promotes the safe and effective use of medications.  To consistently meet these aims, there is a significant investment in technology and the professional growth, education and development of the Pharmacy Staff.  In addition to extensive training and mentoring, there is support for in-house, local and national educational opportunities.

At City of Hope, pharmacists provide drug information and a wide range of clinical services including:

  • Pharmacokinetic dosing
  • Nutritional Support
  • Drug therapy monitoring
  • Investigational drug services

Pharmacists are responsible for managing satellite pharmacies, which are located in each patient care area, and enjoy a close working relationship with pharmacy technicians, physicians and nurses.  Pharmacy Services also assists in promoting and ensuring compliance with medication-related patient safety goals, standards and guidelines.

City of Hope is committed to maintaining efficient and effective pharmacy operations, current technologies and educational support to ensure the success and professional development of our pharmacy team.  Clinicians have access to drug information resources such as Micromedex, Lexi-Comp, Clinical Pharmacology, Consumer Labs – herbal brand reviews, Natural Standard and Natural Medicines.  Wireless access is available in clinical areas so clinicians can conduct their work more easily.  The institution is currently developing an integrated, paperless physician order entry and clinical documentation system.

Pharmacy Residency Program
PGY-1: City of Hope offers a residency program in pharmacy practice (PGY1).
