Susan Douglass Yates came to City of Hope to start its institutional archives in 2005.  She earned a B.A. in history at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an M.A. in public history at California State University, Sacramento.  From 1992-1995 she worked as a consultant providing oral history, archival, and historical research services for several organizations including the University of California, Davis, the City of Davis, the California State Archives, and the National Forest Service.  From 1995 to 2005 she was an editor and interviewer at the UCLA Oral History Program.  While at UCLA she also served as project director for the State Government Oral History Program series.
