Gastrointestinal cancers’ cells form in the organs of the digestive system including the pancreas, large intestine (colon) and rectum. Over the last few years, incidence rates for pancreatic cancer have gone up, while rates for colorectal cancer have dropped. However, not counting skin cancer, colorectal cancer still remains the nation’s third most common cancer, making early detection through routine testing critical.
