Researchers reel in the years for cancer patients |
| You're not getting any younger, and neither is the rest of America. As people age, their chances of developing cancer rise — and age makes cancer treatment more complex, too. City of Hope physicians are leading much-needed studies to improve care for older patients, pursuing more effective treatments and better quality of life. |
| Cancer can be a frightening diagnosis, but more people are surviving the disease than ever before. About 9.8 million survivors are living in the United States alone. Breast cancer survivors make up the largest group (22 percent) followed by prostate cancer survivors (17 percent) and colorectal cancer survivors (11 percent). |
