Miley Cyrus makes music while making a difference

When teen pop music and television star Miley Cyrus kicks off her concert tour this fall, Buena Vista Concerts will donate $1 to City of Hope for each ticket sold -- with a goal of raising more than $500,000.

In Cyrus' "Best of Both Worlds" tour, which kicks off on Oct. 18 in St. Louis, she'll perform both as a solo artist and as her popular television character Hannah Montana.

Her tour coincides with the recent release of her newest recordings. "Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus," a two-disc set featuring songs from the second season of the Emmy-nominated series "Hannah Montana" and her debut as a solo artist, was released by Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records on June 26.

Cyrus, star of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" and a platinum-selling recording artist, visited the pediatric wing of City of Hope Helford Clinical Research Hospital, with her father, singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus, on May 14. The father-and-daughter entertainers also performed at City of Hope’s 10th annual pediatric picnic in Los Angeles on June 2.

Tickets for the first group of dates went on sale Aug. 18 at Ticketmaster outlets and online at AEGLive.com. For more details on her concert dates, visit www.disneymusic.com.
