Did you know?

Many people don’t know where the major organs of their bodies lie. British researchers asked more than 700 people to identify the location of specific organs when given shaded images of a body outline. Most (86 percent) found the intestines, but less than half could find the heart. And only 31 percent knew where the lungs were. The researchers cite the study as evidence that health-care professionals “still need to take care in providing organ-specific information to patients and should not assume that patients have this information.” Innerbody.com has easy-to-understand body diagrams.
