| Prostate cancer patients tend to fare better if they take regular brisk walks. A study out of the University of California, San Francisco found that men with localized prostate cancer who regularly walked three miles per hour or faster were less likely to die or even to have their disease progress than those who walked more slowly. Walking at least three hours per week showed the most benefit, reducing the risk of disease progression by nearly 60 percent. The researchers cautioned that many factors were at play and more study to confirm the relationship was needed. The National Cancer Institute has information on prostate cancer risk factors. |
