Pro Football Hall of Famer and legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach played “all-time quarterback” on Sept. 7 on the storied turf of Chicago’s famed Soldier Field at The Staubach Company’s annual Flag Football Challenge, which benefited City of Hope this year.
The Staubach Company’s colleagues and clients are invited to bring their families to the event to meet and play with Staubach, the company’s chair and chief executive officer. Founded in 1977, The Staubach Company provides global real estate advisory services for companies worldwide such as Time Warner, O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Exxon Mobil.
Staubach, a Heisman Trophy winner and Super Bowl most valuable player, hosted nearly 400 event attendees — appropriately on the night the National Football League season kicked off. Guests helped raise funds for City of Hope’s diabetes and cancer research, treatment and education programs with a silent auction held during the cocktail reception. At the event, Staubach was joined by Steven F. Stratton, the company’s Midwest region president, who will be honored with The Spirit of Life® Award by City of Hope’s Chicago Construction and Real Estate Council at the Windy City’s Navy Pier on Nov. 2.
Created in 1992 by a group of construction and real estate professionals who wanted to help fund the search for a cure for cancer, the Chicago Construction and Real Estate Council includes representatives from all levels of the industry including development, finance, architecture, law and brokerage. To date, the group has raised nearly $2 million for City of Hope.
