Nine-time Grammy-winner and breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow recently recorded three promotional spots for City of Hope that are running on the radio and in movie theaters nationwide. The ads are designed to increase awareness for City of Hope and its mission.
Spots are running during Premiere Radio Networks and Movie Tunes programming.
Premiere Radio Networks Inc. syndicates 70 programs and services to more than 5,000 radio affiliations countrywide, while Movie Tunes provides music and audio messages in theaters.
City of Hope partnered with Zach Horowitz, Universal Music Group president and chief operating officer and member of the City of Hope’s Music & Entertainment Industry group board, to capitalize on a rare opportunity to enter the recording studio with Crow. The resulting spots will air throughout October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Support from Alissa Pollack, senior vice president of Premiere Radio Networks, and David Forman, senior vice president of Movie Tunes, means that the Sheryl Crow spots will be heard by more than 190 million radio listeners weekly and will be played in 16,500 movie theaters nationwide.
“As a highly recognized entertainer who has recently survived breast cancer, Sheryl Crow is an ideal celebrity to carry our message,” said Maureen Carlson, associate vice president of development marketing. “We are truly indebted to Ms. Crow and our advocates at Premiere Radio Networks and Movie Tunes for this opportunity.”
The promotional spots are intended to increase national awareness for City of Hope. Development marketing staff will gauge the ads’ impact by monitoring traffic to a Web site mentioned in the spots. To hear the spots, go to www.sherylcrowforhope.org.
