Janna H. Hoff, R.N., will join City of Hope as executive vice president for quality and patient safety on April 16.
Hoff will lead the Medical Center’s Quality, Performance Improvement and Risk Management Program, facilitate achievement of best practices within City of Hope and promote external awareness of the institution’s excellent outcomes.
She joins City of Hope from William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Mich., where she had worked since 2001. Hoff most recently served as director of safety, clinical quality and infection control and provided oversight for quality, safety and process improvement activities for nurses, physicians and other health-care providers.
At City of Hope, Hoff will work with medical staff and Medical Center leadership to foster clinical and operational improvement. She will direct all aspects of the quality function, including clinical outcomes, physician peer review, patient safety, service quality and organizational regulatory and accreditation readiness.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the impressive group of caregivers at City of Hope,” Hoff said. “I am very impressed with the overwhelming commitment to quality and safety, and the impressive culture of compassionate care for all patients who come here. I look forward to working with the physicians, the leaders and this entire team who are fully committed to creating the best outcomes possible for their patients.”
Virginia Opipare, executive vice president and chief operating officer, said, “Janna’s career reflects a lifelong dedication to patient safety and care. The expertise and dedication she brings to City of Hope will enable us to continue our tradition of safety and outstanding service to patients.”
Prior to William Beaumont Hospital, Hoff was employed at SelectCare, also in Troy, where she was manager of health and lifestyles management and quality control.
Hoff received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit followed by a master’s degree in administration (with a focus on health care) from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. She is also a certified professional in health-care quality and a registered nurse in the state of Michigan.
