Lyric Culture, a premium rock-and-roll lifestyle brand, recently set aside tickets for its fashion show to be sold at auction, with proceeds benefiting City of Hope.
The company donated 10 of its sought-after tickets for the invitation-only show, which featured a performance by three-time Grammy Award winner Fergie at the historic Hollywood nightspot “Avalon” on May 10. The tickets were sold via online auction on www.charityfolks.com.
“Giving back to worthy causes is a core belief of everyone at Lyric Culture, and we’re happy for the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization as City of Hope,” said Hanna Rochelle Schmieder, president of the company.
The fashion show marked the official launch of Lyric Culture, which is a lyric-inspired clothing company that embodies the words of legendary artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye and many others on denim items, leather jackets, shorts, skirts, corsets, T-shirts and belt buckles. The debut collection, called “Lyric Culture: Revolution,” is dedicated to music created during the late 60s and early 70s. City of Hope’s role as beneficiary of the online auction resulted from a partnership between Lyric Culture and Universal Music Group, a longtime supporter of the institution.
“We are honored to have been chosen the beneficiary of this auction,” said City of Hope Senior Director of Development Britta Bucholz. “Both Fergie and Lyric Culture embody an innovative and independent spirit that is mirrored in City of Hope’s ability to speed discoveries into effective treatments to patients everywhere.”
