Clinics move to improve patients’ experience

Several clinics in the Geri & Richard Brawerman Center for Ambulatory Care will relocate to other spaces to improve patient access and decrease patients’ wait times.

“We need to make these changes to continue providing excellent service to our patients, while managing our growth,” said Alexandra Levine, M.D., chief medical officer.

A relocation planning team is examining patient volume and clinic space, and the team may recommend additional changes with further analysis.

Initial clinic changes will begin on these days:

Tuesdays: Beginning Oct. 2, several physicians with clinics in 3B will move Tuesday clinics to 1C. These include Cathie Chung, M.D., George Somlo, M.D., Mariana Koczywas, M.D., and Kim Margolin, M.D. Levine will move her clinic from 1C into 1B, opening space for physicians in 1C.

Wednesdays: Beginning Oct. 3, medical oncologists will move into the pediatrics clinic space (3A) on Wednesdays. Several physicians previously housed in 3B will move their Wednesday clinics to 3A. These include Thehang Luu, M.D., Arti Hurria, M.D., and Cathie Chung, M.D.
In addition to these changes, medical oncology vascular access device management moved from 3C Medical Oncology Infusion to 3D Pediatrics Infusion on Sept. 12. This move will help reduce congestion and free more infusion space in 3C.
