Foursomes can help fund Rose Parade float

By Vicky Hoffman

City of Hope employees are invited to participate in a golf tournament that will raise funds for the Rose Parade float jointly presented by the institution and the City of Duarte.

The 18th Annual Rose Float Golf Tournament will take place on Nov. 8 at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena, Calif.

The theme for the float is “Passport to the World’s Celebrations.” It is the 35th consecutive entry into the Rose Parade by City of Hope and the City of Duarte. Pediatric patients at City of Hope will ride on the float, creating a unique experience for children who are living with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Staff members can help City of Hope and the City of Duarte make the 18th Annual Golf Tournament a success by signing up as golfers. Cost to participate is $150 per person, including cart and green fees. Each golfer will receive a continental breakfast, barbeque lunch, oncourse beverages and snacks, a backpack, golf shirt, hat and a goody bag or raffle item valued at over $25, as well as a photo with the Tournament of Roses Queen and Court. All money raised goes directly to fund the float.

Image 2000 is the golf tournament’s title sponsor. “We want to surpass our previous fundraising efforts, and with Image 2000’s support, we are well on our way to reaching our goal,” said Elizabeth Bagwell, community relations manager for City of Hope.

To sign up for the golf tournament, contact Elizabeth Bagwell at 626-301-8968 or e-mail her at ebagwell@coh.org.
