Robert A. Figlin, M.D., the Arthur and Rosalie Kaplan Professor of Medical Oncology at City of Hope, has been selected to lead local outreach programs related to the upcoming American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) annual meeting in Los Angeles.

Figlin, associate director for clinical research, will serve as chair of the local liaison committee. The committee supports AACR’s high school outreach program, identifies and recruits postdoctoral fellows to serve as judges for a student caucus and poster competition, organizes tours of laboratories and networking luncheons, represents the AACR at social events, and handles other significant responsibilities.

The 2007 AACR Annual Meeting will be held April 14 to 18.
