More than 320 guests, including “Access Hollywood” host Nancy O’Dell and “Men in Trees” actor Scott Elrod, gathered at Santa Anita Race Track on March 16 for the second annual Racing for Hope benefit.

Guests helped raise $150,000 through ticket sales and a silent auction while enjoying an exciting day of horseracing at the Arcadia, Calif., track.

Proceeds from the sold-out event, founded by longtime City of Hope supporters Marc and Renee Paul, benefited City of Hope’s pediatric cancer program.

In her remarks, O’Dell told attendees about her own family’s experience with City of Hope when her father was treated by Mark Kawachi, M.D. In addition to O’Dell and Elrod, the guest roster included Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, recently featured in the hit movie “Seabiscuit.”

“Our families’ lives have also been touched by cancer. Racing for Hope is our way of supporting the fight against all cancers while gathering together for an exciting fun filled event,” said Marc Paul, whose wife, Renee, is a breast cancer survivor.

President and co-founder of SCI Real Estate Investments, Marc Paul recently was named to the boards of two chapter groups for City of Hope.
