NIH offers career awards

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently released requests for applications for three career awards.

They include the National Institute of Nursing Research Career Transition Award (K22), which provides as much as five years of support. It includes mentored experience for postdoctoral scientists in an NIH intramural program.

The Mid-career Investigator Award in Patientoriented Research (K24) supports mid-career health professionals with protected time for clinical research and to act as research mentors.

The Academic Career Award (K07) offers two options. A development award supports junior teacher-investigators with mentored career development in biomedical research. A leadership award encourages development of excellent multidisciplinary curricula.

Researchers may contact Silvia da Costa at sdacosta@coh.org or Keely Walker at
