May is Oncology Nursing Month and May 6 to 12 is Nurses Week — making it an
opportune time to applaud the contributions of nursing professionals.

City of Hope will host a celebration of nursing at Cooper Auditorium on May 7,
offering food, music and prizes. The institution’s eight evidence-based nursing practice projects will display posters showcasing their work while a slide show highlights the nursing staff.

Organizers also will introduce Shirley Johnson, City of Hope’s new chief nursing
and patient services officer, as well as announce nominees for Nurseweek’s excellence awards. More information on national Oncology Nursing Month is available at www.ons.org/nursingmonth08.
