She joins City of Hope’s Division of General Oncologic Surgery from the John
Wayne Cancer Institute, where she completed a fellowship in breast cancer surgery.

“Dr. Kruper’s approach involves treating not only the tumor, but preparing her patients for survivorship — a holistic approach that reflects the philosophy at City of Hope,” said Joshua D.I. Ellenhorn, M.D., chief of the Division of General Oncologic Surgery. “Through her outcomes research, she will help translate scientific findings from laboratory research into clinical practice, which should benefit countless patients.”

Kruper is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Her studies have been published in journals such as Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Annals of Surgery.

Prior to John Wayne Cancer Institute, Kruper completed a surgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and an internship in general surgery at Yale University New Haven Hospital.

Kruper obtained her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha (Honor Medical Society).

During her residency, she also obtained a Master of Science in health services and
outcomes research from the University of Pennsylvania Center for Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics, which was funded by the National Cancer Institute.

Kruper holds a bachelor’s degree in Egyptology from Brown University and completed a postbaccalaureate premedical program at Bryn Mawr College.
