Chatigny will lead efforts to define the vision and strategic direction for patient access services, and will work together with faculty, staff and department administrators to improve how patients and their caregivers navigate City of Hope processes. She also will spearhead efforts to accept more new patients and streamline how patients access care.
“City of Hope is clearly focused on providing the finest patient care,” said Chatigny. “We want to fully extend that to the administrative aspects of their care and be sure it spans the entire time they interact with us, from the first moments we speak with them through discharge and beyond.”
Chatigny is working with the City of Hope Information System team to improve patient registration and admitting and new patient scheduling, procedural areas that she oversees. She also will work closely with department administrators, faculty and leaders of clinical departments to start new programs and services within the medical center to improve patients’ experiences beyond current accepted healthcare standards.
She has worked as both a practicing nurse and a health-care administrator. Prior to joining City of Hope, she advanced through several positions at Redlands Community Hospital. While at Loma Linda, she oversaw administrative, financial and clinical operations. She also directed support services, clinical research, regional registry, program marketing and business development, community outreach, fundraising, and financial and strategic planning.
“Judy is a highly accomplished professional and has demonstrated extensive experience in patient-focused care and service,” said Elizabeth Dunne, executive officer of the medical center. “We are very fortunate to have her join us in this important new leadership position, and we look forward to her contributions.”
Dunne also acknowledged Michael Rabin, who served as interim vice president overseeing patient access services, the division administrators and disease site team administrators prior to Chatigny’s appointment.
“[Rabin’s] leadership during the past year in these areas has provided the foundation and infrastructure needed as we continue to improve the patient experience,” she said.
Rabin continues at City of Hope as vice president for managed care.
Chatigny received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Phoenix in Ontario, Calif., and her Master of Science in nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
