City of Hope faculty and staff will soon have a chance to indulge their inner gourmet and enjoy relaxing tunes, all while supporting City of Hope.
The third annual Sierra Madre Wine & Jazz Walk is scheduled for Oct. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m., and all proceeds from the community event benefit City of Hope. Participating merchants will provide wine tastings from the presenting sponsor, Riboli Family Wine Estates/San Antonio Winery. Attendees will sample food from local restaurants as they visit a variety of shops; they also can stop along the route to listen to several jazz bands.
Participants will receive a commemorative wine glass, a map of the city and tickets good for tastings, as well as several discount coupons. The event also will feature a silent auction.
The event raised $40,000 for City of Hope in 2007.
As a special offer, City of Hope employees can purchase discounted tickets through the Purchasing Department for $30 each. Employee tickets sold out in 2007. Staff at the Development Center may also purchase $30 tickets from Phil Kong at ext. 26266. Tickets regularly cost $35 if purchased prior to the event; ticket price at the door is $40.
The event begins at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard in Sierra Madre, Calif. Event organizers advise attendees to arrive early, as last year’s event sold out. For more information, call 626-355-0024.
