Upcoming benefits fairs to be bigger and better

By Alicia Di Rado

City of Hope employees can expect prizes, free food and valuable information at upcoming benefits fairs.

An expansive fair will be held in Cooper Auditorium from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 6, while another will take place at the Development Center in downtown Los Angeles from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 5.

The fair in Cooper Auditorium will include informational booths from benefits providers, as well as representatives from the Auto Club, Costco, 24 Hour Fitness and other vendors.

Employees can also take advantage of free food and refreshments, including hot dogs. Staff members also can get a flu shot at the Duarte fair.

In one major change to the fair, organizers have removed the lines for entering raffles. All City of Hope employees will be entered into a drawing for prizes — which will include a mountain bike — but they must attend one of the fairs to see if they won.

As part of the effort, human resources staff will distribute ice cream to night-shift staff at the medical center on Nov. 5 and provide handouts on benefits. Night staff may then attend the fair at the end of their shift.

More information about the fairs is available by sending an e-mail to benefits@coh.org.
