"Canswer" is the answer for advertising awards

By Vicky Hoffman

City of Hope received several awards for its marketing and advertising “Canswer” campaign this year.

HealthLeaders Marketing Awards announced the winners of the nation’s best health-care marketing campaigns on Oct. 15, and City of Hope was among them. The institution received the Platinum Award for Best Integrated Advertising Campaign for a medium-size (101 to 499 beds) hospital for its “Canswer” campaign. A panel of judges chose winners using criteria that not only judged the look and quality of the campaigns, but also their results.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. Companies and agencies of all sizes submitted more than 9,000 entries for these awards, making it one of the largest award programs of its kind in the world.

Also in May, Healthcare Marketing Report honored City of Hope with a Silver Award for total advertising campaign without television. The publication’s Healthcare Advertising Awards is one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious advertising health-care awards competition, with more than 3,500 entries submitted from several countries and every state in the nation.

Finally, City of Hope received a Silver Award for multimedia advertising for its “Canswer” campaign from the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association in March. The association’s Golden Advocate Awards set the standard for communications excellence among Southern California health-care professionals.
