Brenda Lotero, right, of the Blood Donor and Apheresis Center, hands a raffle prize to Clinical nurse Merle Alberto at the Employee Loyalty Celebration on Jan. 31.

The party in Cooper Auditorium honored participants - all 258 of them - in the Blood Donor and Apheresis Center's 2007 employee loyalty program, "Giving Hope in Every Way I Can."  The program rewards City of Hope staff for donating blood and blood products.

Participants earned a raffle ticket for each blood donation during the year.  Anita Robinette of Financial Support services earned the most tickets, as she donated platelets 21 times in 2007.  Prizes included a plasma television, certificates to a cabin in Big Bear, Calif., Disneyland passes and more.  Hospitality Services supported the prizes through a grant.

The employee loyalty program will continue unchanged this year, though participants must visit the Blood Donor Apheresis Center to complete new registration forms.
