By Carmen R. Gonzalez

More than 1,000 hikers participated in the10th annual Hike for Hope, organized by the Desert Women’s Chapter, on March 2 in Palms Springs, Calif. Organizers estimate the event raised more than $200,000 for City of Hope.

Participants in the hike through the Indian Canyons area included members of the Coachella Valley Hiking Club, who lead the hike each year. The group commemorated the longtime support of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians by honoring tribal chair Richard Milanovich.
