Beaming with pride

The metal bar later was hoisted atop the framework of the expansion of the Leslie & Susan Gonda (Goldschmied) Diabetes & Genetic Research Center on Oct. 27.

The topping-off ceremony commemorated the placement of the final structural beam on the four-story building. Honoring the efforts of steelworkers, the event marked a significant project milestone for the expansion, which will double the laboratory space for research into diabetes and other serious metabolic diseases.
