The Desert Women’s Council’s 11th annual Hike 4 Hope on March 1 supports women’s cancer research at City of Hope. Faculty, staff and students, as well as family and friends, are invited to participate.
Hike 4 Hope will be held in Indian Canyons in Palm Springs, courtesy of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Guides from the Coachella Valley Hiking Club supported by Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue will lead participants on hikes ranging from very easy to strenuous. Participants can choose from 10 different trails.
“We’re grateful for the support from the tribal council and the use of the majestic Indian Canyons,” said Eileen Stern, Hike 4 Hope co-founder and longstanding City of Hope supporter. “With their help and help from other Southern Californians, together we can continue to increase awareness and support for women’s cancer research programs at City of Hope.”
In its 11 years, Hike 4 Hope has helped raise more than $2 million for City of Hope.
The hike begins at 7 a.m. Basic registration costs $40, and participants are encouraged to raise additional funds for research. Directions, registration, fundraising information and other details are available at www.hike4hope.com or by calling 760-202-3885.
