To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and encourage employees to be eco-friendly, City of Hope will hold an Earth Day fair outside the cafeteria on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“This event is important to City of Hope’s mission to improve our infrastructure and reduce our impact on the environment,” said Chuck Pickering, chief safety officer and one of the fair’s organizers. “Specific areas we are working on include conserving energy and reducing waste.”
Attendees can learn about City of Hope’s initiatives to protect the environment as well as information on how to “go green” around the workplace and home. Participating departments and vendors include Occupational Safety & Health, Facilities Management, Engineering, Sodexho and Waste Management Healthcare Solutions.
Participants also may enter a raffle to win one of 50 Home Eco-Starter kits featuring environmentally friendly products, tips and activities.
