Amateur shutterbugs, rejoice. The time for recognition is now.
Hope News is issuing a call for entries to its first City of Hope photography contest. Anyone with a City of Hope badge is eligible, and prizes include Target gift cards and recognition in print and online.
Photographer must be a City of Hope badge holder (such as employees, graduate students, volunteers and fellows). Communications Department staff members are ineligible.
Must be submitted in electronic form (jpg or TIFF) at least 5 inches by 7 inches at 300 dpi or printed at a minimum size of 8 inches by 10 inches. Must have been taken on City of Hope Duarte campus. Color images only. Must be submitted by the actual photographer. Photographers retain rights to their photographs, but by submitting them to the contest, grant City of Hope rights to reproduce the images in Hope News both in print and online, including in the Hope News online archive.
Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in conveying the unique beauty and character of City of Hope or its people. A panel of Communications Department staff will judge entries and all decisions are final.
Winners will receive Target gift cards. First prize: $50. Second prize: $25. Third prize: $10. Winning photos will be highlighted in Hope News (print and online). Photos earning honorable mention will be featured in an online gallery.
Deadline for submission is 3 p.m., May 21. Entrants may submit up to four photos. Photos may be sent by e-mail to email@example.com. Prints or photos saved on a disc may be sent by interoffice mail to Hope News, Public Affairs, Modular 144. Questions? Contact Laurie Bellman, ext. 61475 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
