When three men arrived at City of Hope carrying guitars, other visitors seemed a bit puzzled. But the men simply were toting the tools of their trade.

Don Gatlin, Mike Ulvila and Jay Darby, members of country group Savannah Jack, toured the campus and visited with clinical staff on May 3. When their last stop took them to the Sheri & Les Biller Patient and Family Resource Center, they offered to perform, and the center soon filled with patients, visitors and employees.

Savannah Jack participated in City of Hope’s 20th Annual Celebrity Softball Challenge in Nashville, Tenn., on June 7. They shared the field with top country music artists Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and many more. The group toured City of Hope at the invitation of Gator Michaels, vice president of national promotion at McMurry Entertainment Group, a member of City of Hope’s Music and Entertainment Industry group committee in Nashville.
