Phillip Wilson, international creative director for FHI Heat, demonstrates one of his signature haircuts on a model during Peel’s Salon Services’ annual spring trade show in Iowa. Manufacturers, salon employees and local businesses donated more than 40 gifts for auction, and the April event raised nearly $25,000 for City of Hope.

Cosmetologists, barbers, aestheticians, nail technicians, massage therapists and salon owners learn about upcoming trends in the professional salon business through the annual show. Wilson also was among 552 participants who set a new Guinness World Records feat at the event for most people cutting hair at the same time. (Photo by Alpha Rentals/alpharent@aol.com)
