Love hiking? The month of March in the pristine Indian Canyons in Palm Springs, Calif., offers a chance to hike among towering palms, rippling streams, sparkling pools and panoramic views — in comfortable temperatures.

It also provides a chance for staff, faculty, students and their families to help raise funds for women’s cancer research at City of Hope.

Hike 4 Hope, a noncompetitive, family-oriented hiking event, will take place March 7. Hikers can choose from 10 trails offering easy, moderate or strenuous routes, all while exploring the natural beauty of the desert.

The scenic hikes start at 7 a.m. and preregistration fees are $40 for adults and $35 for children and seniors; late registration fees (after Feb. 25) are $50 for adults and $45 for children and seniors.

Now in its 12th year, Hike 4 Hope has raised more than $2 million for City of Hope. It is generously sponsored by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, the Coachella Valley Hiking Club and the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue.
