Geriatrician and medical oncologist Arti Hurria, M.D., director of the Cancer and Aging Research Program, has been selected to participate in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Leadership Development Program for 2010-11.

ASCO’s one-year program cultivates leadership skills in emerging oncologists. Through the program, participants network with ASCO leaders at national meetings, understand key ASCO research initiatives, and attend a leadership boot camp and receive advocacy experience and training in Alexandria, Va., and Washington, D.C.

Physicians who completed their final subspecialty training between 2000 and 2005 are eligible for the program. Twelve oncologists were selected for the 2010-11 program. For more information, visit www.asco.org/leadership.
