Employees can make changes to their benefits from Oct. 24 to Nov. 4 during City of Hope’s open enrollment period.

Open enrollment, held once a year, is the only time faculty and staff members can make changes to their health plans without restrictions. Employees can enroll online again this year from any computer at https://oe.coh.org. Complete instructions are available in benefits materials mailed to employees’ homes.

There are minimal changes to the medical plans for 2012. Some copayments under the Kaiser Permanente health maintenance organization (HMO) plan have changed. Based on employee feedback, the durable medical equipment benefit has been enhanced. Smoking cessation prescription drugs are now covered under the drug formulary in the Anthem HMO and preferred provider organization plans. There are no plan design changes to any of the dental, vision, life or disability plans.

Food, flu vaccines and prizes at benefits fairs

Three benefits fairs will be held in conjunction with Open Enrollment. All of City of Hope’s benefits vendors will be there to answer questions. The fairs also will feature presentations from TIAA-CREF, the administrator of City of Hope’s retirement plan. In addition, employees can expect prizes, food and free flu shots.

Benefits Fairs schedule:

  • Development Center: Oct. 25, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Duarte campus (Cooper Auditorium): Oct. 26, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monrovia Administrative Center (first floor conference rooms): Nov. 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More information about the fairs is available through the Benefits Office at benefits@coh.org.
