City of Hope employees and supporters are invited to help decorate the institution’s upcoming entry in the 123rd annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

Phoenix Decorating Company, which designed City of Hope’s float and several others, has invited City of Hope employees to assist with float decoration. Decorating takes place Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, 2012, and volunteers must participate for at least one eight-hour shift.
Shifts are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a break from noon to 12:30 p.m., and from 4 to 11 p.m., with a break from 7 to 7:30 p.m. In addition, a shift for completing final touches is slated for Jan. 1 from 8 to 11 a.m.
Volunteers may choose their shifts and are welcome to work more than one day.
Phoenix Decorating Company float supervisors oversee and assign decoration tasks, which include jobs for volunteers of all ages and artistic skills. No one under age 13 is allowed in the work areas, however.
Organizers recommend that volunteers wear older clothes and sturdy shoes in the work areas.
